This policy explains how the GAVEL Alarm app ("GAVEL," "the app," "we," "us") handles information. We built GAVEL to collect as little as possible.
GAVEL does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or contacts. We do not use advertising or ad trackers, we do not use third-party analytics, and we do not sell or share your personal information. Nothing in the app is used to track you across other apps or websites.
Your alarms, chosen voice and focus, preferences, favorites, and wake statistics are stored locally on your device only. This information is not transmitted to us and is removed when you delete the app.
If you buy a GAVEL Premium subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy — we never see your payment card or billing details. To confirm your subscription status and restore purchases across your devices, we use RevenueCat, Inc. as our subscription processor. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and the purchase/receipt data needed to verify your subscription. This data is used only to provide the subscription (app functionality) and is not used to track you. See RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.
GAVEL plays narrated public-domain quotations. Some audio is included in the app; additional audio may be downloaded from our content servers on demand. These requests carry only standard technical information (such as the file requested and your device's IP address, used to deliver the file) and are not used to identify or profile you.
GAVEL uses Apple's AlarmKit to schedule alarms. Alarm scheduling happens entirely on your device; no alarm content is sent to us.
GAVEL is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Because GAVEL keeps your personal data on your own device and collects no account information, there is very little for us to secure on your behalf. Purchase processing is handled by Apple and RevenueCat under their own security practices.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
